Las Vegas Clinics possibly infecting MORE than 40,000 people with HIV, and Hep.?In regard to the latest crisis in Las Vegas: the clinics intentionally reusing syringes, vials of medication on multiple patients and also not sterilizing surgical equipment in between procedures, resulting in the possible infection of MORE than 40,000 people with HIV and Hepatitis B & C. So far we know of 5 clinics practicing these criminal and heinous acts - all owned by the same person - not one Dr., Nurse, etc. ever complained about being "forced" to engage in the infection and possible deaths of thousands of patients - why are they not considering this Bioterrorism? It could possibly KILL over 40,000 people (and according to the news last night this number is VERY underestimated) - they willfully infected these people/ gambled with their lives and had/have no remorse. The state allowed these 5 clinics to re-open yesterday for "consultations only" I think this is BS - What is your opinion? PS -I have 4 family members who have to get tested!
I guess the first thing one woud think woudl be they did it to save money but as far as I knwo syringes coudl only cost a few cents a piece. I think there is more to it - I do know that the Dr. is not originally from this country...not that that REALLY means anything, dont get me wrong but I think it needs to be investigated.

Yes, this is very true! I live in Las Vegas and both my parents were patients at one of these clinics. They have both tested negative for Hep and HIV. I have a hard time imagining that people would go back to these clinics even for consultations. Five nurses have surrendered their licenses so far. Dr. Desai, primary owner of the clinic has printed a "non-apologetic" letter in the paper saying that a foundation has been set up to take care of testing for those exposed and denying any culpability for reusing syringes.

This mess could go on for years!
