Could i have got "Hep C" or any other disease from this?Hey, ages ago i posted a question. I asked if it were possible if i could have got HIV from this, this was my previous question>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"Well the other week i went for a blood test and when the lady pulled the needle out of my arm MY blood went all over the arm of the chair and with an alcohol wipe she wiped my arm over the blood site and then she wiped the chair with the same wipe and then she wiped my arm with the same wipe again over the injection site. The only blood on the chair was mine but could any previous germs on the chair given me HIV? I'm so scared, i put in a formal complaint about her!"

Someone reassured me all was fine>>> this is what they wrote>>>>

you cant have gotten hiv/aids but you could have gotten some nasty germs.

you should report that women to her boss! for every ones safety.

I felt less worried until someone answered that hepatitis can last for weeks on a surface...does that mean even if there is no blood on the surface that hep can live as a germ and of could of got that????

I would definitely complain, but the chances of you catching something i would say are nearly zero. The hole in your arm would of healed by the time it was wiped the first time, and the alcohol on the wipe would of killed any germs.

You can't catch hiv in this way when the blood is outside the body the virus dies. So even if a person had had hiv and the blood had gone on the chair you wouldnt catch it as the virus would be dead.

You can't get HIV from germs. Only from a mixing of bodily fluids from 2 or more people. The alcohol wipe would have killed 99% of germs, so don't worry about infection either.

You are overreacting. It is statistically so unlikely that improbable is not a strong enough word. Especially as you mention the alcohol wipe.

But if you want to clear out your anxiety, go take the tests.
