Could you take a bath in some oatmeal possibly? This worked for me as a child when I had the chicken pox. Keep the bath at a cooler level and keep the house cool too. You could get some Sarna lotion or some benadryl.

Maybe this website will be helpful: http://www.itchymoms.com/

I'm not sure if it is what you've been diagnosed with though. Good luck! Itching sucks. Hopefully the next weeks go by fast for you and you are itch free with a new little baby!

I would be very careful about using anything
while you are pregnant without first checking
with the doctor. Anything that is placed on
the skin can go into the body and to the liver.
It may also go to the baby.

You need blood testing done to see why
these enzymes are elevated and if it has
effected your liver.

Some of the things they use for this, in
patients who are not pregnant are
Aveeno products that have oatmeal in them.
The have bath solutions, soap, etc. You
can find them in drug stores or department
stores that have a pharmacy.
Some creams are milder than others...
Eucerin is one of the basic creams
(they use this cream in the pharmacy when
they have to add medications to it when
the doctor orders special mixtures)
Another thing is using oils like Olive oil(which you cook with) is good. It doesn't take much and
it absorbs into the skin and doesn't feel oily
after a short period of time.
Don't use hot water when bathing...try luke warm.
Rub the area instead of scratching it.
Scratching can destroy the skin causing a healing
process to take place and more itching.

If it is a biliary problem or liver problem...the
doctor has medication known as Ursodiol that
helps the bile to flow better. However, it
might not be used in pregnancy.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi,

MAY most likely be having an allergic reaction to something and better micro-nutrition will keep it from occurring and will also strengthen your liver lymph and kidney systems to handle allergic reactions without as many sufferings in the future.

IF I may be wrong - I am always impressed that there is oftentimes some good advice and good links from people helping others through Yahoo_Answers.

Although I have learned a-lot after doing considerable research via the internet about my own diseased-liver that has eventually 'allowed' allergic reactions to many many triggers, please consider that it is more likely than not >>=> that a WRONG medical diagnosis will be made by listening to the advice of novices via Yahoo_Answers.

Sooo I would strongly encourage you to become a 'good' diagnostician for yourself, and to also seek out a 'good' doctor or a 'good' nurse and s/he will make a medical diagnosis and thoroughly explain the causes preventions and solutions much better than anyone on Yahoo_Answers could do without being able to see you personally.

My best to you,

My own life experiences and from 'good' doctors and from sites like the one at <> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formication <> Formication is a antiquated term for itching-pruritus disease that can be caused by several sources.

IF you are interested, I feel I have become a quasi-expert on rashes and pruritus itchings after many years of off and on flare ups. So to do my part to make a difference in the world I now take a little time each week to help others understand why better nutrition is so important, and I have posted much of my own story via the link at: <> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091020155428AAsQsof <>. I hope you will have learned something today from my own mistakes and would not duplicate them. My best to you and yours. AI - nutritionIst – OJT – [(-:]
