I have recently been diagnosed with hepatitis c-genotype 2 does anyone know of a natural remedy or cure?I am very reluctant to take interferon and ribivan. I have researched these treatments and do not feel comfortable taking them. Does anyone have suggestions besides milk thistle about what I can do?

No... homeopathic medicines just don't cut it. Almost all of it is pure placebo and those rare finds that do work have chemicals that are given in larger doses. So yeah.... take interferon, but ask for doctor monitoring while you take it.

There is no cure, though sometimes cases go into remission for unknown reasons.
Milk thistle does nothing.
Why are you "uncomfortable" taking interferon or ribavarin? Yes, there can be side effects, but they are the only treatments actually proven to work. The fact you were able to research them on your own, but are asking for help about alternatives also shows the lack of good information endemic to alternative medicine.
Not all cases of HCV show any clinical symptoms or require treatment. Patients with genotype 2 or 3 are far more likely to respond to interferon treatment, so you are "fortunate".

I am not a huge fan of using pharmaceuticals either. I tend to research a lot about natural remedies before I decide what to take. I would not take anyone's advice without doing some research myself.

While milk thistle herb might be helpful, I think the benefits of interferon & ribivan far outweigh the risks. I know there can be side effects, but the regimen is temporary and so you don't have to take it forever and your body can easily recover.

Also, please note that interferons are a substance your body creates on its own. People sometimes are low in production and/or a regimen of extra interferons are recommended for some conditions, like hep C genotype 2.

This is one condition and Rx regimen that I would side with the doctor's advice. Taking risks can lead to a lifetime of illness and discomfort.
